This is my favorite song off the recent/new Sneaky Sound System album, and you should own it. It's beautifully done and what electronic music should be, in many ways. God bless SSS. I can't wait until they eventually infiltrate the U.S. This song builds like an orchestral piece and shakes me up like a British nanny.
As far as the new Sneaky Sound System album, my favorite dance track (my favorite track of all is downtempo) is EASILY I Need You So. This track is big as hell, and the bass rocks the hell out of my car speakers... try for yourself...
As far as this club edit, I wanted to shorten the song, up it to a house beat (128bpm) and drop the parts that would possibly kill a dance floor. The song itself is an aphrodisiac to the ears, but to a dance crowd it needs editing. Check it:

I cannot wait until it drops on the 17th. So excited. Here's the latest leak of From Here To Anywhere, by Sneaky Sound System. It's unlike any other track of theirs, and it's brilliant... All three tracks I've heard: We Love, Big, and this one have been very different, yet all dance tracks of the highest quality. Get ON IT.
So, Summer is one week from being (technically) over. It's been a turbulent one, and my music loves have semi-reflected such. Here are the TOP 7 songs that rocked my Summer. I've been hunting down this track for a month, and finally have a nice copy of it, thanks to KickKickSnare's Wesley, one of my best buds. My fucking lord, I cannot wait for SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM's new album. I predict they are going to explode. Or, at least I hope so! Everything about this song is "Big." It's anthemic, soulful in that way that is almost unique to Miss Connie (vocalist), and the bass is so big I had to adjust my levels on my computer. LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Okay, I'll stop being a big pussy. I mean "BIG" pussy, pardon me.
For my 600th post, I figure it's only proper to post something by one of my favorite (and most posted) acts... Sneaky Sound System. How did I not know about this video? Ugh- it's been out for 2 months and I never saw it. I love this track more than my luggage... and now even moreso after seeing this... special video. Why aren't they massive, again?
You see, I hate Kanye West's persona, and I barely dig him as an artist. He's a bag of horseshit, but he is saved here by my long-time affection for Jay-Z, and my LOVE for Elly Jackson (lead vocalist of La Roux). What you all don't know (and those douches aren't mentioning), is that backing vocal is provided by Connie Mitchell from Sneaky Sound System. La Roux and SSS in the same track? :::eargasm:::... It is also worth mentioning that this track is produced by Q-Tip, one of my favorite hip-hop artists.
This track has that old Pharcyde/Tribe Called Quest (apart of which Q-Tip used to be... A-HAA!) school sound that I loved about hip-hop in my teens... and is what my homies and my boos would call 'the dope.' Haha... Anyway, it's pretty great and I especially enjoy how much noticeably better Jay-Z is than Kanye on this. Sit down, you abrasive ass-clown. ... ENJOY!
PS: this is from the new duet of an album from Kanye and Jay-Z called One Of Us Sucks... wait, no, it's actually called Watch The Throne. My bad.
Yes, I am so sorry it's taken me almost two weeks to post this, but getting ready for TONIGHT's PRIDE PARTY has been exhausting. I'm going to bring my A-game, that's for sure, and this song may indeed be a part of it! Definitely dive into the unique, awesome sounds of the one and only SNEAKY SOUND SYSTEM!
The Juan MacLean (whose real name is John MacLean), has been around forever. He is one of the great precisionists when it comes to perfect remixes and blending the energy of indie pop with the inspiration of electronica. Despite his odd definite article in front of his stage persona, he is nothing short of fantastic as a DJ and recording artist. His close relationship with James Murphy (LCD Soundsystem, Founder of DFA records) has served him well, and is evident in his sound, as well. He graces the fabulous sound system of U Street Music Hall tonight, and you should be there if you want to dance that holiday-eatin' ass off. I'm guessing he will go on around 12:30a, but don't quote me that. Just go. Here are my three favorite remixes of his. My favorite, by far, is the Sneaky Sound System track. The Example track is pretty great, but not nearly as good as its original. Lastly, a tolerable Marina & The Diamonds remix rounds out the group.
According to an email blast I received early Thursday morning, Sneaky Sound System is due to release its new (third) album next year, with only the final touches being the last hurdle until we all (hopefully) revel in the best electro-pop group to not make it in the U.S.
"...we've been head down, bottoms up making a NEW record, and we can honestly say it's the most excited we've been about any of our albums. Written and recorded in hotel rooms, planes and studios from Moscow to Ibiza to Naples, London to Paris and back to Ibiza again... it's a record influenced by our travels then nurtured in the comfort of our studio in Kings Cross here in Sydney."
