10 BIG GAY SONGS for TONIGHT!

TONIGHT
So tonight is my PRIDE SET from 9:00 - 11:00p @ THE NEWSEUM! I'm so excited. To give you a preview, and celebrate, what big gay dance music should be, here are 10 tracks you'll probably hear me spill tonight! GET EXCITED!!!

NEW Lykke Li rmx edit/ music video!

So, I secretly love Lykke Li. Her latest LP, Wounded Rhymes is perhaps my favorite album of 2011, so far. I Follow Rivers is a stellar track with a ridiculous amount of depth, despite a simple premise. But, I have learned this to be a theme with her. I hope you dig this as much as I do. Check out the video below (original track) and my own edit of her, that I love! I really took this one apart and sped it up to club pace, without destroying it. Hooray!

LYKKE LI!

Get wounded.

NEW Lykke Li track(s)

This is just beautiful. Lykke Li is getting ready to take over the pop world. Mark my words. She is a star once on the rise, now ready to take ascend the universe. Wow!

remix monday: lykke li gets magical

Today's REMIX MONDAY is a track that I have had for way too long and not passed along. Shea played it Saturday and I realized that I already had it, I just hadn't messed with it! Hooray for rediscovery! Enjoy this fantastic remix of Lykke Li's new track, I Follow Rivers.

essentials: new lykke li + favorite remixes

Are you as excited as I am for the new Lykke Li? Here are the three leaks so far. I love them all. I also threw in my 2 favorite remixes of her, my favorite mash-up, and the FANTASTIC new video for Get Some. If you don't own this Swedish sweetheart's debut album, Youth Novels, get. it. The new album drops in the U.S. in March. Also, check out her collaborations with Kleerup and Royksopp. Such great stuff (couldn't upload them because of the multiply aforementioned douchebaggery of SoundCloud... just click on them).

NEW STUFF

fresh: lykke li gets her some

Lykke Li, Sweden's (god they keep producing good artists, don't they?!) 24-year-old indie darling released a new track this week that is completely ruining me in all the best ways. A preview for her upcoming sophomore release, Wounded Rhymes, Get Some is the perfect direction for a star whose first album's popularity did just enough hint that she was capable of great things. I hope she keeps producing quality tracks, as this song is infectious enough to get (even) me excited. I also attached a remix by one of my gods, Beck, which is definitely worth a listen... but the original takes the proverbial cake. When is someone going to throw a Swedish dance party? Let's call it MEATBALL... no?...
