remix monday: "Mr. Know It All (DJ Kue rmx)" - Adele Lite

As much as I hate to admit it, I often enjoy me some Adele Lite, AKA Kelly Clarkson. Half the talent for half the filler (or filling...). She's pretty talented, obviously, as we all know from the soothsaying American Idol. Ha. But, yes, I do enjoy her, and I still find joy every time I play Gone- my favorite of hers.

So, she has a new album and the market is finally ripe for her slightly rotund self. She's totally likable, which definitely helps, and has a real edge to her, or curve rather, to which a lot of heifers out there (myself included) can relate. So, as we all delve into the holiday calories, let's enjoy our favorite semi-fatty, Kelly Clarkson, and her new remixed track (by the oft-impressive DJ Kue) Mr. Know It All. Download link above.

remix monday: Dev "In The Dark"

This bitch is up and coming. That's about all you need to know. Stay tuned, because I expect moderate-to-big things out of this one. Used by Martin Solveig in "We Came To Smash" and that asianese group in "Like A G6," Dev is pretty rad (so far... I may tire of her soon). Fresh and finished. This remix really had to be touched up, I must say. DJ Kue, once again, has delivered a hard electro slam of a remix. It's the second time he's made a song better than its original, when the song was innately sort of terrible. Hate me for saying that now, but I know I'll get your thank-yous in a few months. Oh, and I know this has been up on the DJ MAJR fan page for a while... I'm just now getting around to not being busy out of my mind! Enjoy your lovely Britney Spears, nonetheless:

fresh: DJ Kue makes Far East Movement tolerable

DJ Kue (Mike Morales of Sunnyvale, CA) has apparently made a wonderful practice out of making terrible pop songs tolerable to me. This is yet another example of his wonderful sense of electro-pop humbling my oft-hatred for radio pop. Far East Movement blows something terrible, I have to admit, and the original version (see video below) of this song is no less terrible, but Kue makes me hate it a lot less. Vocals are provided by Ryan Tedder, who recently has become known as the lead singer of OneRepublic (also known as shoot me in the face right now), but years ago did a lot of vocals for Paul Oakenfold. Alas, I think this video would have been much better served if they just would have played it over the Kill Bill fight scene between Black Mamba and O-ren Ishii where Lucy Liu gets her head cut in half. YES! That would have been amazing. Check it out!
