GAGA-PEACHES WEEK Day 1 - fav remixes

Here are my favorite remixes of Lady Gaga and Peaches. I'm getting so excited for Friday's SIREN: F**K THE FAME AWAY. It's going to be dark, sexy, dance-heavy, and a complete escape into the fun visceral side of pop music.

I chose the Alejandro remix because Bimbo Jones made me like my least favorite song on the Fame Monster album. Alejandro is simply a boring song, and he made it danceable and energetic. I found myself singing it while walking after hearing this and if you haven't heard it, you probably will too. (If it goes over downloads, just email me at SHIFTdc@gmail.com and I'll send it to you personally).

On the other side of the ball is the heavy, angry, distorted (but still awesomely danceable) remix of Boys Wanna Be Her by the ultra-reliable Tommie Sunshine. Heart him. This song will make you dance, no matter if you know the song or not. It's a deliberate stomp-beat, and I love that. Do not listen to this song at a party if you have downstairs neighbors. Haha.

Born This Way (Bimbo Jones vs. DJ MAJR edit) - Lady Gaga

Bimbo Jones, one of my favorite DJ outfits to see in the last year, has once again done a great job with a pop track. They really have a solid understanding of what makes a substantial pop remix.
They took on a track that (though I doubt anyone can really make it any better than it is... which still doesn't say a lot) is so clubby it's difficult to improve, Lady Gaga's Born This Way. So, I took this 6+ minute remix and cut it into a tolerable piece of music that won't bore me to pieces. Hooray! Enjoy:

some fun kylie remixes

Here are a couple Kylie remixes of note. Check'em out!

3 tracks: uber-pop remix edition

Just to prove I don't completely hate status quo pop music, here are three remixes that I dig of songs that are huge right now.

We have Usher's OMG, a track (remixed by The Almighty) that is very infectious despite using the word 'boobies' in it. Asinine. Lady Gaga's latest release (and possibly worst song) Alejandro has a decent remix by gay-pop-lovin' Bimbo Jones, which I find surprisingly of high quality. Lastly, MSTRKRFT applied their trademark distortion and sass to the innately retarded California Gurls, by the auto-tuned empress, Katy Perry. May she cease to be. Enjoy!
