So, I'm a poor DJ. I don't have the money for the bigtime equipment or studio time to make the shit I dream about making, but I do what I can. Necessity is, indeed, the mother of invention... yada yada, etc etc.
I was a big club dancer before I was ever a DJ, and often a remix or a single is not danceable enough for my liking in said situations. So, I fix these things sometimes. Whether it's mashing two remixes together and manipulating the tracks, or it's completely replacing the backing of one track and replacing it with another... I basically just want a song to be danceable enough for me to love, as well as make the crowds, for whom I play, dance.
Here's the latest track, one of the biggest dance tracks of the summer (everywhere but DC, it seems) from Kaskade ft. Dragonette on which I've been working. It's a mash of a very trance-centric remix by Sultan & Ned Shepard (a remix that Kaskade, himself, has been using to play it live) and a very electro-dance remix by Ming. These two tracks were so good and had perfect moments in each of them... but I couldn't decide which to play live... so I molded them together to my pleasure, and manipulated all the levels to my liking- Enjoy!
